Week 16 – Seahawks vs. Jets Preview

The Seahawks host the New York Jet in Mike Holmgren’s finalgame at Qwest Field as head coach of the Seahawks. Kickoff is slatedfor 1:05 p.m. (PT) and the game will be televised on CBS (channel 7 inSeattle) and broadcast on 97.3 FM in Seattle.
It will be the 17th regular season meeting between the two clubs since1977 and the series is tied at eight games apiece. The Jets have woneight of the last nine meetings and are in the midst of a five-gamewinning streak since 1995.
Holmgren, who has compiled an 89-79 career record in his 10 years inSeattle, is 51-28 at Qwest Field, including two undefeated home recordsin 2003 and 2005. His clubs have posted seven winning seasons, sixplayoff appearances and five division titles. His 2005 squad posted afranchise-record 13 wins and a trip to Super Bowl XL.
Tight end John Carlson, already Seattle’s single-season tightend record holder in catches and yards, is one score away from tyingthe touchdown mark (5, Jerramy Stevens in 2005).
Kickoff returner Josh Wilson is in range of setting Seattlesingle-season records of his own in returns (66, Charlie Rogers in2000) and yards (1,629,Rogers in 2000). He leads the league with 62returns, 1,565 yards and eight returns of 40+ yards this season.
Quarterback Seneca Wallace, who has compiled a 110.4 passer rating overthe last two games, has thrown 158 consecutive passes without aninterception, just one behind Matt Hasselbeck’s franchisemark of 159 set in 2005.
