The Hawks will take on the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday in their final game of the 2008 season
The Seahawks close out 2008 looking for its third win a row in Mike Holmgren’s final game as head coach of the Seahawks. Kickoff is slated for 1:15 p.m. (PT) and the game will be televised on FOX (channel 13 in Seattle) and broadcast on 97.3 FM in Seattle.
It will be the 20th regular season meeting between the two clubs, with Arizona holding a 10-9 series edge. Arizona has won three of the last four meetings after Seattle won four in a row from 2004-06.
Holmgren, who has compiled a 90-79 career record in his 10 years in Seattle, finished 52-28 at Qwest Field after last week’s 13-3 win over the N.Y. Jets, including two undefeated home records in 2003 and 2005. His clubs have posted seven winning seasons, six playoff appearances and five division titles. His 2005 squad posted a franchise-record 13 wins and a trip to Super Bowl XL.
Tight end John Carlson, already Seattle’s single-season tight end record holder in catches and yards, tied the touchdown mark last week vs. New York (5, Jerramy Stevens in 2005).
Kickoff returner Josh Wilson is in range of setting Seattle single-season records of his own in returns (66, Charlie Rogers in 2000) and yards (1,629, Rogers in 2000). He leads the league with 64 returns, 1,601 yards and eight
returns of 40+ yards this season.
Quarterback Seneca Wallace, who has compiled a 108.5 passer rating over the last three games, has thrown 183 consecutive passes without an interception, a Seahawks record. The longest current streak is Washington’s Todd Collins’ 203 passes, but he has not attempted a pass all season.
