
Chris “Beanie” Wells was one of the top prospects to come out of the 2006 recruiting class. He is one of eleven children – he attended Akron Garfield High School, where his last two years, he accumulated over 4,000 yards rushing and 47 touchdowns. Wells participated in the Army All-American Bowl, rushing for 3 touchdowns and was named Most Valuable Player. He has been compared to a number of successful running backs, including the legendary Jim Brown. Wells shared carries with Antonio Pittman and finished his freshman season with 576 rushing yards, averaging 5.5 yards per carry and had a total of seven touchdowns.
