Michael Crabtree, Knowshon Moreno to Revive Seahawks Offense?

First Round, Pick No. 4: WR Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech

You can’t give me one reason why the Seahawks shouldn’t draft Crabtree with their first round pick. Crabtree won the Biletnikoff award for best WR in college football both years at Texas Tech.

The Seahawks don’t have a great No. 1 (Larry Fitzgerald-like) WR on their roster, and there won’t be another “Crabtree” coming up in the draft the next few years. The Hawks never get this high of a pick, so they have a BIG hole at WR, and they can address it with drafting Crabtree fourth overall.

First Round, Pick No. 23 (possible trade with MIN—they would get the Hawks’ second and fourth round picks, and the Hawks would get their first and fifth round picks): RB Knowshon Moreno

If this trade did happen it would be great, because with new OC Greg Knapp bringing his top 10 RB style of offense and with Moreno being a great, young, and fast RB, it would help out the offense and Matt Hasselbeck a lot.

Moreno’s only 21 years old and will give the Seahawks a REAL No. 1 RB because Maurice Morris won’t be back and Julius Jones will be a good backup like a two-headed attack and give REAL life back in the run game. This gives the Seahawks two great young playmakers on offense in Crabtree and Moreno.

Third Round Pick: QB Josh Freeman

Hasselbeck will be the team’s starting QB, but the Hawks are going to need to look to the future and know that Seneca Wallace isn’t the answer. Frye is a FA and won’t be back, and they are going to need a new young QB to back up Hasselbeck and take over when he retires or gets injured again.

Let’s look at Freeman and his stats: 2,945 yards, 20 TD, and a 136 QB rating. He has a lot of comparison to Joe Flacco, a big tall frame but a strong accurate arm.

Fifth Round Pick: DT Terrance Taylor

A big run-stopping DT is just what the Seahawks need. He wouldn’t start, but he would be a great backup or rotational starter, which is what the Seahawks like to do. They also wouldn’t have to spend top dollar to get him.

Sixth Round Pick: G Tyronne Green

Just drafting for depth now.

Seventh Round Pick: WR Aaron Kelly

Just drafting for depth now.
