The headliner for Cal Poly was WR Ramses Barden. The lanky wideout measured in at 6-foot-6 1/4-inch, 227 pounds and ran the 40 in 4.51 and 4.55 seconds. He had a 10-foot, 2-inch broad jump and ran a 7.10 three-cone drill.
Barden was said to have caught the ball very well and he had his college quarterback Jonathan Dally throwing passes to him.
Players from Sacramento State, Menlo College and UC-Davis also worked out at San Jose State’s pro day on FieldTurf. Twenty seven teams had representatives in attendance.
Twelve team representatives showed up to watch 20 players (including some from Northern Arizona) work out outdoors on grass.
G Paul Fanaika (6-5 5/8, 327 pounds) ran a 5.59 in his first 40, but pulled a hamstring while he was running. He had a 24 1/2-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot, 2-inch broad jump, a 4.92 short shuttle, an 8.06 three-cone drill and 16 bench press reps.
WR Michael Jones (6-3 1/2, 211 pounds) ran a 4.58 and 4.54 in the 40, had a 36 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump, a 4.21 short shuttle and a 6.82 three-cone drill.
QB Rudy Carpenter (6-2, 217 pounds) ran a 4.89 and 4.93 in the 40.
RB Keegan Herring (5-9 3/8, 203 pounds) ran a 4.51 and 4.47 in the 40, had a 34 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot, 3-inch broad jump, a 4.26 short shuttle, a 6.93 three-cone drill and did 24 bench press reps. he was a pleasent surprise today.
S Troy Nolan (6-0 7/8, 205 pounds) ran a 4.58 and 4.59 in the 40, had a 31 1/2-inch vertical jump and did 15 bench press reps. He worked out well.
