Seattle Seahawks draft speedy Notre Dame WR Tate

The Seattle Seahawks have answered another need by selecting speedy Dame wide receiver Golden Tate in the second round of the NFL draft.

New Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and new general manager John Schneider bypassed needs at pass rusher and along the offensive and defensive lines at 60th overall on Friday to take the playmaker for an offense that needs a few.

Tate had 93 catches with Notre Dame and quarterback Jimmy Clausen last season.

Carroll and Schneider also reaffirmed their faith in recently acquired quarterback Charlie Whitehurst by passing up the chance to draft Texas star passer Colt McCoy.
