Pete Carroll and Aaron Curry Live From VMAC

Published on May 18, 2010 by

Brock and Mike were live from the VMAC in Renton for Seahawk OTA’s today. Pete Carroll sat down with the guys after practice and to discussed the main difference you will see on this years team that is being emphasized by the coaches:

The number one thing on defense you can see is that we are much more aggressive coverage wise than we were when we first came out on the field. Guys are getting a feel for it. We are trying to push our looks and our style of play on guys.

Pete also talked about his observations of the rookies thus far, how former players Mike Williams and Lendale White are adapting, the staff coming together and Peter King’s recent power rankings. Check out the whole interview below:

Seahawks outside linebacker Aaron Curry (listen here for Carroll’s take on Curry) also joined Brock and Salk to talk about the simplicity of his role on this years team as compared to last year:

The most important thing is it’s simple. Most of it is just go full speed and the hit the quarterback or go full speed and hit this gap. That makes it a lot simpler.

Aaron goes on to offer his expections for the Seahawks upcoming season:

The only expectation I can hope for us is to play hard and to play fast. Play each game one at a time. Don’t look at the opponent next week. Just focus on the play right now, the game right now and winning right now. That’s going to start through mini camps and OTA’s building a tempo of playing fast and playing to or through the whistle.

Aaron also spoke more about what he’s learned since last year, his opinion on his play so far, his perception of Ken Norton Jr. and the advice he’s given this years first round picks. Listen to the full interview below.
