Seahawks have eye on unhappy Bills RB Lynch?

If the Bills opt to deal disgruntled running back Lynch, the Seattle Seahawks are very interested, according to league sources.

The Bills have kept Lynch even though he has generated interest from other clubs — The Seattle Seahawks in particular — and is currently third on the depth chart behind Jackson and rookie Spiller.

Lynch has not taken part in the Bills’ offseason program as he protests the team’s decision not to trade him, according to sources. The Bills could have received at least a fourth-round pick for Lynch during the draft, league sources said, and Seattle has made Buffalo well aware of its interest and willingness to trade a pick in that range. The Bills, however, asked for much more than that during the draft.

The Seahawks were interested in Lynch even before releasing running back LenDale White, according to a source. Lynch has a good friend — running back Justin Forsett — on the Seattle roster and would covet a return to the West Coast.

Lynch has had off-field issues in Buffalo and has yet to spend any real time around new coach Chan Gailey. Gailey is determined to show players he’s in charge, given the sense that former coach Dick Jauron may have been too accommodating for players. Lynch has been the first test-case of Gailey’s philosophy.

That said, keeping an unhappy reserve running back around might not ultimately make sense, particularly after Buffalo took Spiller ninth overall in April’s draft.

Should the Bills end up deciding to move Lynch, Seattle will certainly be in the mix.
