According to ESPN.com, Seahawks wide receiver Deion Branch has been traded to the Patriots for a 2011 fourth-round pick.
The news of Branch being traded comes as no surprise, as it had been rumored that Seattle started shopping him last week, but the compensation is more than most believed the ‘Hawks would get.
Branch played for the Patroits from 2002 until 2005 when he was shipped to Seattle for a 1st-round draft pick. A former Super Bowl MVP, the Seahawks figured to be getting a star wide receiver, however, since the move to Seattle he has struggled to stay healthy.
Branch figures to jump right into a significant role with the Pats as a result of Randy Moss being sent to the Vikings.
