The new Vikings receiver — who, according to Revis, gave up in the second half of a Week 2 game against the Jets while with the Patriots — said Saturday the cornerback will learn to respect him, eventually.
“Between me and him is a mutual thing,” Moss said in an interview with the Vikings Entertainment Network. “It’s more of us competing. I think he gets caught up a little but with how he talks. I’ve never said anything about him, good or bad. I still give him his respect, but he hasn’t given me mine yet. Sooner or later, I’ll get it.”
Moss caught a touchdown pass while covered by Revis in the Patriots’ loss to the Jets earlier this season. Revis aggravated a hamstring injury on the play and has not been active since.
He said this week that Moss did not play much in that game after that, either.
“The second half I watched in the locker room and you could tell he was like putting his foot on the brake,” Revis said. “Everybody knows that’s Randy. Sometimes he comes out and plays 100 percent and sometimes he doesn’t. You can tell: You can see the effort, the body language. The truth comes out.”
With Moss’ trade to the Vikings this week, and Revis’ recovery from the hamstring injury, the two should be matched up again for most of Monday night’s game at New Meadowlands Stadium.
