Seattle Seahawks – 3 vs. St. Louis Rams – 20

Published on October 3, 2010 by     Seahawks.Com News (Feed)

Pete Carroll talked all week about taking the right mindset onto the road this week and establishing the same type of play his Seahawks have shown at home.

But that certainly didn’t happen Sunday in a 20-3 loss at St. Louis as any forward momentum gained in the first three weeks of the season fell to the wayside.

Carroll didn’t help matters with an “interesting” decision with the failed fake field goal attempt at the end of the first half.

A patchwork offensive line that had done surprisingly well in the first three weeks didn’t hold up as well in this one as Matt Hasselbeck was sacked four times, the run game again produced only 64 yards and rookie Russell Okung was replaced after two quarters as his injured ankle wasn’t quite ready for prime time.

On the flip side, Rams rookie quarterback Sam Bradford was given time to pass for 289 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Seahawks got four sacks, but failed to mount much consistent pressure and the result was predictable.

Away from home, the Seahawks really haven’t been the same team for years. Their road record is now 3-15 since 2007.

Two of those wins were at St. Louis, but now the Seahawks can’t even lay claim to that edge as the young Rams snapped a 10-game losing streak against Seattle.

Both teams are 2-2 in the wide open NFC West. The Seahawks could have taken early control of the division with a win.

Instead, they head into their bye with a lot of questions. What do you think, Seahawks fans?
