Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has cleared the next hurdle in his return from a concussion that forced him to sit out last week’s game against the New York Giants.
“Matt has been cleared to practice. He’s ready to go,” coach Pete Carroll said today during his midweek Q&A session.
Asked if he expected Hasselbeck to start in Sunday’s game against the Cardinals in Arizona, Carroll offered an emphatic, “He’s absolutely fit; ready to go.”
Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane also is expected to return after sitting out the past four games with a strained calf. Also due back is tackle Tyler Polumbus, who sat out last week with a sprained knee. As for first-round draft choice Russell Okung, Carroll said, “We’ll take that one period at a time (during practice).” Okung has missed the past two games with a sprained ankle.
The club also made more roster moves today, including re-signing QB J.P. Losman, who was with the team during training camp. Also back is center Chris White, who was signed Nov. 3 but released Nov. 16.
Wide receiver Antonio Robinson has been signed to the practice squad. Cornerback Josh Pinkard has also been signed to the practice squad.
