Mike Williams returns to practice for Seahawks

The Seahawks have been hit hard with injuries, but the one bit of good news today was the return of receiver Mike Williams who “had an excellent” practice, according to coach Pete Carroll.

“You wouldn’t even know he was banged up,” Carroll said.Williams has been bothered by a thigh bruise just above his knee and missed a few days of practice this week.

Carroll said quarterback Charlie Whitehurst had a excellent week of practice.Guard Chester Pitts was absent today because he had to attend a funeral. He’s expected to return Sunday and will start at left tackle.Carroll said rookie offensive tackle Russell Okung ankle is “as doubtful as you can get,” and OT Tyler Polumbus knee is going to be a game-time decision.

Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane calf is a game-time decision and rookie receiver Golden Tate ankle is out.Fullback Michael Robinson hamstring is also extremely doubtful and Carroll, which poses a problem because he doubles as the emergency quarterback.

Currently the Seahawks have just one healthy QB on the roster and Carroll was vague about how the team will remedy the problem.
