Seattle didn’t suffer any injuries expected to cost the Seahawks a player this week, and the team may be getting some players back this week after missing six starters in last week’s game.
The list starts with quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who sat out with a concussion.
“He had a good workout today,” coach Pete Carroll said. “I don’t have to go blow-by-blow on his workouts and all, but he had a good workout today. Responded well, best he has, and looks very good at this point.”
Has Hasselbeck been cleared to return from a concussion?
“Not officially,” Carroll said. “They don’t have to yet. We don’t practice until Wednesday and I think they’ll wait all the way until then.”
Left tackle Russell Okung has missed the past two games after suffering an injury to his left ankle.
“He worked out well today (Monday),” Carroll said. “He had a good workout today. He’ll be in there again (Tuesday), and we’re just going day to day. He’s very close. We’re trying to gauge it. We’ve seen him come back before from this. We’re trying to gauge it with that information. This ankle sprain is not nearly the one that he had, and so we’re hopeful, and I know that he’s very hopeful that he’ll be able to get back and help us.”
And defensive tackle Brandon Mebane, who has missed the past four games with a calf injury?
“He worked out, had just about a full workout today (Monday),” Carroll said, “which is the best sign that we’ve seen of him. I think he’s really perked up about it. He feels like he’s on his way back now. We’re expecting him to practice on Wednesday, and be in there full speed. He did practice a little bit last week, but wasn’t quite over the hump yet so we think this will show up Wednesday, and we’ve just got to make sure and take care of him during the week.”
Two players who won’t be returning are defensive tackle Colin Cole and wide receiver Golden Tate, both of whom have ankle injuries that will keep them out several weeks. Cole remains in a plastic protective boot after suffering a high ankle sprain.
The only two players injured during Sunday’s game were safety Earl Thomas, who was stepped on at the end of the first half and returned for the second half, and tight end Chris Baker, who suffered a foot injury, but is expected to be OK.
