Walter Jones will be inducted to the Seattle Seahawks’ “Ring of Honor” on Sunday, having his number retired as he indicated via his Twitter account.
Jones played 12 seasons with Seattle before undergoing knee surgery in 2008. He attempted a comeback last season, but was never able to return. He announced his retirement earlier this year.
Jones was chosen by Seattle in the first round of the 1997 draft, picked No. 6 overall. He was named to the Pro Bowl nine consecutive seasons.
Jones wore No. 71. No one has worn that number since.
