With an athletic group of quarterbacks working out Sunday at the NFL Scouting Combine, all eyes are on their every move as they rotate between skill and position drills on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The first group of quarterbacks ran the 40-yard dash earlier in the morning, and with the second group — which includes Cam Newton — now finished, we have some unofficial results.
Jake Locker‘s time caused some buzz in the media center, and if Tyrod Taylor‘s run is deemed official, it would be the second-fastest for a QB at the combine since 2000. Locker’s time would be the fourth-fastest.
Here’s the top 5:
1. Taylor, Virginia Tech: 4.45
2. Locker, Washington: 4.52
3. Colin Kaepernick, Nevada: 4.53
4. Josh Portis, Cal U-Penn: 4.56
5. Cam Newton, Auburn: 4.58
Missouri’s Blaine Gabbert will not throw, but he did run the 40 and clocked in at 4.61.
