The elements were so bad at Ohio’s pro day on March 10 that the 13 players who worked out had to run their 40-yard dashes under a tent.
Still, WR Terrence McCrae (6-foot-2 5/8, 194 pounds) stood out during his workout on a cold, wet field. He put up 40 times of 4.49 and 4.42 seconds, a 4.22 short shuttle and 6.82 three-cone drill in front of 12 teams. He had a 35-inch vertical, 10-4 broad jump and did eight reps on the bench at 225 pounds.
He also met privately with the Dolphins and Chiefs, and appears to be a priority free agent at this point.
DB Donovan Fletcher, who is probably best suited to play safety at the next level, measured in at 5-11 3/8, 204 pounds. He showed strength with 29 bench reps to go with 40 times of 4.63 and 4.59 seconds. He has had a 4.27 short shuttle, 7.09 three-cone, 38 1/2 vertical and 10-4 broad jump.
Both McCrae and Fletcher are priority free-agent types.
