With their only pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, the Seahawks selected Clemson cornerback Byron Maxwell.
The 6-foot, 207-pound Maxwell was the third consecutive defensive back tabbed by the Seahawks, after they drafted Stanford cornerback Richard Sherman and Appalachian State free safety Mark LeGree in the fifth round.
Maxwell started 10 games last season, registering 48 tackles.
Pro Football Weekly on Maxwell: “Tough, long-limbed press-man corner who could warrant interest for gunning ability (on special teams) and has a chance to earn a job for a predominantly press defense.”
The Seahawks have two picks in the seventh, and final, round – No. 2, 205th overall; and No. 41, 242nd overall.
