
The Seattle Seahawks released third-year pro defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer on Wednesday.
Balmer posted 43 tackles in 16 games for Seattle in 2010, his first with the club after two years in San Francisco.
A first-round pick by the 49ers out of North Carolina in 2008, Balmer has totaled 62 tackles and two passes defensed in 43 games.
In addition, the Seahawks signed running back Vai Taua. Taua had been released by the team on Monday.
