A recap of the activities of Virginia Mason Athletic Center for Sept. 16, when the players reviewed Sunday night’s 29-3 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on “Tell The Truth Monday”:
WORD OF THE DAY: TOE
As in the one on Pro Bowl left tackle Russell Okung’s left foot that he injured against the 49ers.
Asked during his day-after Q&A session with the media whether Okung would play in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at CenturyLink Field, coach Pete Carroll said, “I don’t think that’s possible, we’ll see what happens. I don’t think he can make that.”
But Carroll stopped short of offering any more details, adding that the club still is waiting to get all the information before making any additional comment.
“There are some options that we’ll deal with as we try to figure it out,” Carroll said. “There’s a little bit of a spectrum here that could come to us with options. We need to wait and see.
After Okung went out in the second quarter, left guard Paul McQuistan moved to tackle and was replaced at guard by James Carpenter. Despite the loss of Okung, the Seahawks rushed for 172 yards against the 49ers.
But Carroll declined to predict what might happen this week if Okung indeed cannot play.
“We don’t know yet,” he said. “We’ll figure it out.”
