Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson reported to Texas Rangers camp early Monday, and Drew Davison of the Star-Telegram has the story.
According to Davison, Wilson took part in fielding drills with Rangers manager Ron Washington in addition to the regular workout with the rest of the team’s infielders, which focused on popups and turning double plays.
“Looked real good,” Washington told the Star-Telegram of Wilson’s day on the diamond. “Looked sharp. Baseball is definitely in him.”
Davison says Wilson received quite the ovation from the several Seahawks fans in attendance at Monday’s workout, noting the 12th Man outnumbered Rangers fans this morning. The Seahawks signal caller isn’t expected to pick up a bat, but will be on hand when the Rangers take on the Cleveland Indians this afternoon.
